All'Altare di Dio
Images, objects and videos of an extraordinary life tell the story of man who has marked an era: Pope John Paul II. An exhibition that aims to reveal even the Pope's intimacy, a man who gave all of himself to God's people, becoming a beacon of peace.
The exhibition “ All’Altare di Dio” (The Altar of God), sponsored by Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Affairs, the Superintendent of Cultural Heritage under the patronage of the Foundation "Duc in Altum", is organized by Società 06Event Srl, museum services by Zètema Progetto Cultura and will be hosted at the Capitoline Museums from April 28 to September 25, 2011. Besides Rome the exhibition will be hosted at the Royal Castle in Warsaw from May 17 to July 31, 2011.
The exhibition presents 150 photographs, mostly signed by the poprular photographer Vittoriano Rastelli, accompanied by detailed descriptions in three languages (Italian, Polish and English). Also, thanks to the collaboration with RAI, several videos about the life, teachings and faith of Pope John Paul II will be shown. Videos include travel tapes, great speeches, meetings with church and political institutional authorities. There will be on display some personal items belonged to John Paul II.
